L&C Plus proudly released Young Jerome, a daring new prequel series exploring the early years of the man who would one day redefine beauty tutorials, delusion, and the human condition. The series is NOW STREAMING exclusively on L&C Plus Streaming.
Set in the eerily beige suburb of Eyesore, Kentucky, in 2006, Young Jerome follows the tender and tumultuous upbringing of Jerome — portrayed by a state-of-the-art fleshbag 3D-printed to look like a young Jerome Cage, embedded with an actor’s consciousness, courtesy of Lindholm Biotechnology Labratories. Through tragedy, furrydom, and the slow decay of normalcy, young Jerome begins his descent toward the chaotic influencer we all came to hate in iUgly.
The also series stars Blake Lively as Chrystal Ugly, Jerome’s spiritually confused mother who heals trauma with crystals; Carmichael Lemoné as Hunter, his lacrosse-playing brother with devastating cheekbones and zero empathy; Rachel Zegler as Melanie Splint, the malevolent girl next door whose high school science fair project may or may not involve arson; Calefornia Dudeigh as Aunt Jemima, the family’s mysteriously well-adjusted serial killer; Shortdiq Buttskwezer as Dennis, Jerome’s unpredictable, drug-dependent father; and Ellen DeGeneres as Grandma Doreen, who hasn’t blinked, moved, or spoken since 1989. Rounding out the cast is Fatcoq Hitler as Uncle Lester, who audiences are advised not to Google.
Executive produced by the same creative team behind iUgly, the series embraces a “cringe-core millennial” aesthetic, capturing the fragile optimism of 2000s capitalism through grainy camcorder lenses, low-saturation pastels, and painfully earnest MySpace energy.
“Young Jerome is about humanity’s decline told through the eyes of a 8-year-old boy with an unstable internet connection,” said showrunner Ajayeh Morphine, who describes the tone as “heavy, absurd, and uncomfortably real.”
Production was not without challenges. According to multiple reports, Blake Lively briefly attempted to “silence the peasants around her” by trying to murder the cast and crew with a prop chakra crystal. Lively later clarified to LUSA News, “It was about florals, not violence.”
Marketing for Young Jerome has already made waves online, with the official trailer mysteriously released on 143 different unverified accounts before being taken down and re-uploaded by Lindholm itself under the tagline: “Before the brushes. Before the downfall. Before the glow-up.”
